Inherit scans a hand-built AWS account using read-only APIs and generates an OpenTofu or Terraform project that can be planned and imported. Resources are laid out as a root module with one module per category, each with an import block, and IDs that point at other discovered resources become references. Secrets such as Lambda environment variables and user data are kept out of the .tf files and written to a gitignored local file. It covers 363 of the AWS provider's 1,735 resource types, and Lambda code cannot be read back, so functions point at a placeholder zip.
