Context
Qwen announced Qwen3.8-Flash's availability in OpenCode Go on August 28. The announcement combines two different kinds of scale: its 125B/6B notation describes model parameters, while the one-million-token describes how much material a request can accommodate.
The model documentation explains that only six billion parameters activate per token despite the much larger model. It also documents text, image, and video understanding. These specifications describe a model designed to process substantial, varied context with selective computation; they do not measure coding accuracy across the entire context window.
- context window — The maximum amount of text a model can consider at once — its working memory for the current conversation or task.
- multimodal — A model that works with more than text — reading images, audio, or video, and sometimes generating them too.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
- inference — Running a trained model to get answers — the phase where AI is actually used, as opposed to trained.
