About
wlmoves is a nested wlroots Wayland compositor that sits between client programs and parent compositors like Niri or River, letting a running Wayland application move to a different virtual terminal or compositor without disconnecting or restarting it. Because clients connect to wlmoves rather than directly to the underlying compositor, their process and Wayland connection stay alive while only the nested output they display on changes.
Why it made the leaderboard
It lets a live Wayland application keep its connection and process alive while you move it between different TTYs and compositors, something normal Wayland setups can't do.
