About
A Rust library that converts Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF, EPUB, CSV and PDF files into GitHub-Flavored Markdown. Every input format is parsed into one shared document model and emitted through a single serializer, so the Markdown looks the same no matter which format went in. Conversion runs in single-digit milliseconds with no ML model or external service, and bindings ship for Node.js, Python and the browser via WebAssembly.
Why it made the leaderboard
Local multi-format document parsing is a standard bottleneck in RAG and agent ingestion pipelines, and this targets it directly without a hosted dependency.
