Sonia is a local voice assistant that combines an LLM, speech-to-text and text-to-speech without a dedicated GPU. The microphone stays open while it speaks, so you can interrupt it, and it distinguishes echo or backchannel sounds from real interruptions. It supports function-calling tools such as timers, notes and shell commands, with a judge model that checks each proposed call against what the user said.
