One command audits your Claude Code setup

Claude Code's /checkup reviews configuration choices that affect both efficiency and how the agent operates. Boris Cherny's announcement says the command can clean up unused skills, tool connections and plugins, reorganize project instructions and turn off slow hooks, which are commands triggered during the agent's workflow.

The review also reaches permission settings, including enabling auto mode and pre-approving frequently denied read-only commands. Those suggestions change operating behavior as well as housekeeping. Cherny explicitly says /checkup asks for confirmation before making changes, giving users a chance to assess the proposed configuration.
