Next version of OpenClaw uses a decision model to automatically decide between steer or queue. (Lab feature, we support Jef* and API-compat (e.g. local models like Kef...) and ONNX variants)

Context
Peter Steinberger, who builds OpenClaw, an open-source coding , says its next version will automatically decide whether a new instruction sent mid-task should interrupt the agent's current turn (steer) or wait until that turn finishes (queue), a choice users currently have to make themselves. The decision is handled by a separate, lightweight decision model rather than the main coding model, and the post describes it as a lab feature not yet in general release.
Small dedicated decision models, which return a structured choice instead of open-ended text, have started appearing elsewhere too: TypeSafe AI's Jev, for instance, is built specifically to make this kind of fast, typed decision rather than hold a conversation, which is the same category of model OpenClaw appears to be using here.
