Context

Cua's Linux driver uses accessibility information to help agents identify controls by their meaning. Through AT-SPI, Linux's accessibility interface, it can obtain button names, roles and available actions. The implementation account describes trying those actions before falling back to simulated input.

Compatibility depends on the application's display path as well as its controls. The June 2026 release supported X11 applications, including those running through XWayland on a Wayland desktop. Native Wayland support remained an opt-in preview, and applications bypassing XWayland could be invisible to the supported backend. A Linux installation alone therefore did not establish that a particular application could be automated.
