Origin, our code hosting platform, is now live. It's fast, easy to use, and deeply integrated with Cursor. Get started by syncing your repos from GitHub.

Context

Cursor's Origin can either host a repository directly or mirror one from GitHub, and that choice determines where code changes are stored. For an Origin-hosted repository, pushes go to Origin. For a synced repository, GitHub remains authoritative and Origin mirrors it. The launch documentation makes this distinction explicit.

That means bringing an existing repository into Cursor does not necessarily move its hosting. As the documentation explains, a synced repository can still be browsed and reviewed there, with pull-request comments flowing between the two services. The August 17 launch began as an early beta for paid plans, with enterprise administrators able to opt out.
