Q: Which models have been most impacted by the arrival of Jev? A: The flash versions of models across many labs. Also: nearly half of Jev users on OpenRouter hadn’t touched any models the week before. This launch sparked enough excitement to pull them off the sidelines.

Context

OpenRouter reports that Jev's arrival on its platform reactivated a large share of dormant accounts: nearly half of the users who tried Jev in its first stretch hadn't used any model on OpenRouter the week before. Jev isn't a conversational chatbot; TypeSafe AI built it as a small, fast model meant to make structured, typed decisions, such as picking which model or setting to use for a task, in under a second and at very low cost.

OpenRouter says the models most affected by Jev's launch were the flash, meaning low-cost and low-latency, tiers across many labs, which suggests some of the reactivated usage displaced cheaper general-purpose models rather than adding an entirely new use case on top of them.
