Password Dungeon is an 8-bit style game that teaches beginners the fundamentals of binary exploitation on C programs, translating concepts like structs, byte/hex encoding, null-terminated strings, and endianness into spatial puzzle mechanics rather than pure code-reading exercises. Across 10 rooms, players use in-game items to inspect source code and memory and convert raw bytes to integers or strings, building up to performing a buffer overflow to clear the final room; it was designed to resist being solved by simply pasting challenges into an LLM chat window.
