Tencent opens Hy3 globally with public API pricing

On August 5, 2026, Tencent widened access outside China to Hy3, the model it had released with open weights on July 6. Hy3 is a mixture-of-experts model with 295 billion total parameters, of which 21 billion are active for any given token, and it accepts up to 256K tokens of context. The announcement adds hosted routes rather than a new model: Tencent's own WorkBuddy and Miora products, the Tencent Cloud TokenHub API, and third-party access through OpenRouter. Each route serves a different user. WorkBuddy is an agent workspace that carries out research, data analysis and document tasks from plain-language instructions, and Hy3 was free there for users worldwide until August 31, 2026. Miora is a design studio that uses specialist agents to turn a brief into graphics, video, 3D and interface assets. Tencent's release gave the API price as listed on OpenRouter at launch, starting at US$0.1288 per million input tokens and US$0.5336 per million output tokens. Those are the launch figures as Tencent reported them.

The performance claims in the release are Tencent's own. It says Hy3 performs comparably to flagship models with two to five times as many parameters, that in internal tests inside Tencent's workplace Hy3 completed more than 90 percent of WorkBuddy tasks while cutting average completion time by 34 percent against the previous Hy model, and that Hy3 drew more than 68 times as many API calls as its predecessor and topped OpenRouter's usage leaderboard within a week of launch.
