Context
The maintainers of huggingface_hub, the Python client for the Hugging Face Hub, describe in their release-automation post drafting release notes with a model while checking its coverage against a separately generated list of changes. Code extracts the pull requests belonging to a release, then compares that list with the model's draft and requests corrections for missing or extra references.
The model also receives documentation changes, giving it concrete material for describing new behavior. A human then edits the notes before the release candidate is promoted to a stable version. The workflow separates checking which changes belong in a release from judging whether their explanations are accurate and useful.
- open weights — A model whose trained parameters are published for anyone to download and run — unlike API-only models you can access but never possess.
- grounding — Tying a model's answers to checkable sources — retrieved documents, live data, tool results — instead of letting it answer from memory alone.
