About
Zchyoom is a live map that estimates the real-time positions of Tōkaidō Shinkansen trains using publicly available data, falling back to JR Central's published timetable when live data isn't available. It was built in an afternoon and currently covers one line, with plans to expand to others.
Why it made the leaderboard
A neat example of turning public transit data into a live map quickly, worth a look for transit visualization or Japan rail hacking.
