a skill people at Anthropic have been using a lot recently: ELI5 /eli5 <what you want explained> "explain like I'm someone who knows nothing about this topic, using a HTML artifact with big pictures and few words"

debating whether we should make it an official plugin, but you can try installing it here to try with these commands: claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community claude plugin install eli5@claude-community

I like to use this for explainers and diving into a problem, e.g. /eli5 how does this module work /eli5 why did we make this tradeoff /eli5 what caused this incident

Context

The ELI5 asks an to explain an unfamiliar subject through an HTML artifact with large pictures and little text. In an August 21 thread, Thariq described people at Anthropic using it and gave examples including understanding a module, a design tradeoff or an incident.

The reusable instruction specifies both the audience and the presentation: assume no prior knowledge, then produce a visual explanation. At the time of the post, it was available through the community plugin marketplace while official-plugin status was still under discussion. The account describes a way to request explanations, rather than a measured improvement in comprehension.
