Approvegate is a GitHub Actions and GitLab CI step that checks a deploy against a signed approval record before it reaches production. It verifies the approval matches the build, the approver is not the author, and no change freeze applies. Every verdict is logged for audit export, and new services start in a shadow mode that never blocks deploys.
