About
OpenTaxRate is a self-hostable API that returns the combined US sales tax rate, jurisdiction breakdown and source for a street address and date. It resolves addresses against state-published address ranges and tax boundaries instead of ZIP codes, which can span jurisdictions with different rates. It declines ambiguous lookups with a 422 and does not handle exemptions, holidays or nexus.
