About
Astah Pro MCP is a local MCP server plugin for Astah Professional, a UML modeling tool, that lets AI agents design systems as UML diagrams, explain existing models, generate source code from diagrams (and vice versa), and turn hand-drawn sketches into UML diagrams. It experimentally implements a programmatic tool-calling mode inspired by an Anthropic engineering article on advanced tool use.
Why it made the leaderboard
It bridges AI coding agents with real UML modeling workflows (diagram generation, round-trip code sync) that generic chat wrappers can't do.
