About

Turn your OpenClaw into a chief of staff — opinionated skills for managing your day, projects, and follow-ups.

What it does

ClawChief is a configurable operating model for an OpenClaw assistant. It separates priorities, action authority, meeting-note processing, current tasks, archived work, local settings, and recurring orchestration. Scheduled sweeps inspect live sources, classify new signals, complete low-risk operational work, update the relevant record, and notify the principal only when useful.

Why it's ranked here

The strongest idea is disciplined state ownership. Priorities determine importance, a separate policy determines whether to act or ask, and live systems retain their own domain state. That design reduces stale summaries and repeated nudges. The kit also provides concrete installation checks and cautious defaults for backup and self-update. Its value depends on substantial setup and customization, especially around Google services, calendars, outreach tracking, and personal context.

What's good

The action policy draws a useful boundary between safe operational work, approval-sensitive drafts, risky escalation, and noise. Meeting notes become tasks, follow-ups, and live-system updates instead of passive documents. The task model keeps current work separate from completed work and prevents duplicated active tasks. Channel placeholders keep proactive delivery configurable across Slack, Telegram, Signal, Discord, and Google Chat.

Tradeoffs

Installation is manual and assumes OpenClaw plus a separate Google command-line tool. Google OAuth setup is a hard prerequisite, with several APIs and service checks required. The public kit intentionally omits personal context, so adopters must author private identity and memory material themselves. Templates contain many placeholders and business-specific examples. Some guidance also spans both the canonical Markdown task model and Todoist-oriented conventions, which requires local reconciliation.

How to use it well

It best suits a founder or principal willing to maintain explicit priorities, authority boundaries, calendars, inboxes, and an outreach tracker. Start with the executive-assistant sweep, daily task preparation, and prospecting job, then customize routing and source-of-truth rules. Keep optional backup and self-update disabled until deliberately configured. It does not supply personal context, a CRM, Google credentials, or a general-purpose application interface.

Technical notes+

README.md defines the source-of-truth architecture and manual copy-based installation. INSTALL-WITH-OPENCLAW.md and SETUP-GOG.md require GOG, Google OAuth desktop credentials, and verified Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, and optional Docs access; INSTALL-CHECKLIST.md turns those requirements into acceptance checks. workspace/HEARTBEAT.md orchestrates policy and skills without duplicating their procedures. cron/jobs.template.json supplies enabled assistant, task-prep, and sourcing jobs plus disabled boundary, backup, and self-update templates. clawchief/tasks.md and clawchief/tasks-completed.md implement canonical Markdown state and archival rules. clawchief/priority-map.md classifies people and programs by urgency and action mode, while clawchief/auto-resolver.md selects automatic action, drafting, escalation, or archival. clawchief/meeting-notes.md specifies ingestion into operational state. clawchief/location-awareness.md adds travel-aware actionability and introduces Todoist-specific guidance that adopters may need to reconcile with the Markdown task system. CHANNELS.md separates workflow logic from proactive delivery transport.
