Exa web search free through August 31 on AI Gateway and eve

Vercel integrated Exa search into AI Gateway, its service for calling many AI models through one connection, so applications could retrieve web results and extracted page content without a separate Exa API key. Vercel's August 12, 2026 changelog entry also made Exa the default web search for eve agents using models served through the Gateway.

When a model calls the tool, the Gateway forwards the search request to Exa's Search API and returns the results. The post says domain and date filters are supported. The free-use offer ran through August 31, 2026; that dated promotion should be distinguished from the integration itself, and the post gives no pricing beyond it.
