ByteDance Seed's Seed3D 2.0 separates an object's overall shape from its fine geometric details when generating a 3D model from an image. Its first stage establishes the broad structure. A second stage uses that structure as a starting point and spatial constraint while refining edges and surfaces.

The team says its earlier approach tried to generate both levels together and could soften sharp edges and fine structures. The two-stage design addresses that specific difficulty by letting detail generation build on an already established shape. This explains the intended geometric improvement without assuming every generated object is ready for production.
