Draft mode: explore creative directions fast at a fraction of the cost. A draft generation returns a fast preview of your prompt for $0.06 per second. When a draft is right, send it back and FLUX 3 will render the same video at full quality (retains the subjects, composition, movement) from $0.17 per second, competitive with frontier video at the same quality.

Context
FLUX 3 Video separates trying an idea from paying for its finished rendering. In its August 4, 2026 announcement, Black Forest Labs priced draft previews at $0.06 per second and full-quality rendering from $0.17 per second. A draft that looks right can be sent back to be rendered at full quality, and the company says that render retains the draft's subjects, composition and movement.
The company presents this as a way for creators to judge a proposed clip before committing to the more expensive rendering. The release article also describes audio generated alongside the video, including dialogue, effects and ambience.
