Context

Sakana AI's Namazu API gives developers access to a model adapted for Japanese language and business tasks. It builds on Moonshot AI's Kimi K2.6 using Sakana's own training data, with web search and code execution built into the service. Applications can therefore combine Japanese responses with information gathering and computation through the Namazu API.

Sakana reports that Namazu outperformed its base model on a Japanese instruction-following , a Japanese-English translation task and a political-neutrality test. The translation task and the neutrality test are internal benchmarks Sakana built itself, so those results describe performance on the company's chosen tasks rather than establish general superiority in Japanese.
