Browserbase Search addresses the step before browser automation: finding the page an should visit. Its announcement describes an API that accepts a query and returns ranked page URLs, with titles and descriptions when available.

The workflow separates discovery from reading and interaction. Search identifies possible destinations; Fetch retrieves page content; a browser handles deeper interaction when needed. An agent can therefore inspect search results and retrieved content before deciding whether to open an interactive browser session. Search supplies a starting point for the task rather than performing the browser actions itself.
