If you're building on eve, extensions turn capabilities into ordinary npm-style dependencies you can publish, version and upgrade — with namespaced tools, validated config and typed hooks into tool results — instead of copy-pasting tool definitions between agents. It's an early signal of how agent frameworks are converging on a plugin/package model rather than bespoke wiring.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
- agent hook — A script the harness runs automatically at a fixed point in an agent's loop — before a tool call, after an edit, on session start.
“You can now package tools, connections, skills, instructions, and hooks into extensions that any eve agent can import.”
“Extensions can be published to package registries, then installed, versioned, and upgraded like any other project dependency.”
“A browser-use extension might ship tools for navigating a site, a memory extension can capture context with hooks and recall it with tools, and a self-improvement extension pairs hooks with dynamic instructions.”
