Context
Poolside's data-pipeline post describes generating some coding training data by running code. As the company explains, it takes pre-defined tests from code repositories, executes them on specified inputs and records the outputs; the goal of these datasets is to teach a model to reason about code execution. Automated workers run the jobs, and the resulting synthetic datasets get filtering and manual review for bias and quality.
This is one part of the company's Model Factory, its internal framework for training foundation models at scale. Poolside says synthetic datasets are handled like any other dataset in the pipeline and that it regularly inspects their full lineage, meaning where each dataset came from. The supported capability is a repeatable route from executable software to reviewed training material; the post gives no measured effect of this data on model quality.
