Tencent announced Apache 2.0 licensing for the Hy-MT2 translation models. The change concerns what developers may do with the released material: the published license permits modification and redistribution, including commercial use, subject to its conditions.
Redistributors must supply the license, preserve applicable notices and identify modified files. That gives businesses a defined basis for adapting and shipping the models, while the announcement's broad language about unrestricted use should be read alongside those obligations.
