Nativ combines desktop chat with a local model server on a Mac. That gives users a way to interact with models directly and lets compatible software send requests to a model running on the same computer.
In his July 21 account, Simon Willison reports that the application also recognized model files he had already downloaded. His observation supports a specific convenience: moving existing local models into a desktop workflow without starting the model collection over.
