GPT-6 Astra: The next generation in intelligence for work

OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra can write code and, according to its announcement, operate ordinary software as well. In ChatGPT Work and Codex, that includes applications without an API, the interface developers normally use to connect one program to another. This could let teams automate steps in existing business tools without first building a custom integration.

That access makes permissions part of the deployment decision. OpenAI describes administrator controls for allowed websites and desktop applications, file transfers and browsing history, alongside confirmation policies that can require approval before consequential actions. A team evaluating the system therefore needs to decide which tools it may access and which actions need a person to approve them. The announcement describes those controls; it does not establish that every unauthorized action will be prevented.
