Context
One contributor to a Figma blog roundup argues that interfaces built for AI agents should deliberately put some friction back. In “Double click: Human takes on agentic AI” (February 6, 2025), Figma asked community members how agents that browse and act for users might change design. Allan Yu, co-founder of Synthetic Traffic, writes that because agents do not follow structured user flows, good design will mean “reintroducing friction where it matters”: moments for users to engage, review and approve. He adds that this keeps people feeling in control, “even if that control is, to some extent, an illusion.” This is one contributor's prediction in an opinion piece, and the article reports no testing of any approval pattern. Other contributors address different questions, such as how websites may change for agents, so it should not be read as Figma's own product position.
