Meituan's LongCat 2.5 model can now be called through Vercel's AI Gateway, a single API that sends requests to models from many providers and handles usage and cost tracking, retries and failover. Developers select it with the model name meituan/longcat-2.5, and Vercel's command-line tool can set it up for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
Vercel describes LongCat 2.5 as a model that pairs visual understanding with coding and multi-step , aimed at agents working across large codebases and whole-project builds. It accepts text and images and has a of 1 million tokens, the amount of code, documents and task history it can take in at once. The improvements Meituan highlights, in visual programming, creative design, 3D tasks and longer workflows, are the company's own claims; the announcement gives no benchmark results. Vercel says the gateway charges the provider's pricing with no markup and no platform fee on .
- tool use — A model's ability to call external functions — run code, search the web, edit files — instead of only generating text.
- context window — The maximum amount of text a model can consider at once — its working memory for the current conversation or task.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
- inference — Running a trained model to get answers — the phase where AI is actually used, as opposed to trained.
