The January 2025 announcement describes customization with as few as one to five images, followed by text prompts that place the learned content in new settings. This addresses a specific weakness of general image generation: a model may understand a written description without knowing the appearance of a particular product, person or brand. Fine-tuning supplies examples of that appearance before subsequent images are generated.
