Kilo (Kilo Code) is the company behind an open-source, model-agnostic AI coding agent that runs in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, the CLI and the cloud, and lets developers switch among hundreds of models through one interface. Launched in March 2025 and co-founded by Scott Breitenother and GitLab co-founder Sid Sijbrandij, it raised an $8 million seed round led by Cota Capital in December 2025. Anaconda acquired Kilo in July 2026, and it continues to be developed as an open-source agentic engineering platform.
