Kilo (Kilo Code) is the company behind an open-source, model-agnostic AI coding agent that runs in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, the command line and the cloud, with access to more than 500 models. It was co-founded by Scott Breitenother and GitLab co-founder Sid Sijbrandij, launched in early 2025 and raised an $8 million seed round led by Cota Capital in December 2025. Anaconda announced its acquisition of Kilo in July 2026, and the Kilo-Org GitHub organization continues to maintain kilocode as an agentic engineering platform.
