Porkbun is an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar founded around 2014-2015 by Ray King and Peter Brual as a spin-off of Top Level Design, the company they created in 2012 to apply for new top-level domains such as .design and .art. Based in the Portland, Oregon area, it grew from a niche .design registrar into a bootstrapped, full-service domain and hosting provider, passing one million domains under management in 2022 and four million by August 2026. Ray King, previously known for founding AboutUs.org and co-founding SnapNames.com, serves as Porkbun's CEO.
