Cline Bot Inc. builds Cline, an open-source autonomous coding agent available as an IDE extension, a CLI and an SDK. It works with many model providers, including bring-your-own-key access. Its founder and CEO, Saoud Rizwan, built the original prototype, Claude-Dev, for an Anthropic hackathon in July 2024. In July 2025 the company announced $32M in combined seed and Series A funding led by Emergence Capital and Pace Capital. The cline GitHub organization also hosts the MCP Marketplace submission repository, cline-bench and Kanban.
