Daniel Miessler is a cybersecurity professional and writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, best known for maintaining SecLists, a widely used open-source collection of security-assessment wordlists. He served in the U.S. Army before moving into information-security roles at companies including Aflac, HP, IOActive, Apple, and Robinhood, and since 2022 has run Unsupervised Learning, a company focused on AI and human augmentation. He has published essays on his personal site since 1999, describing his current focus as "building AI that upgrades humans."
