elizaOS is the GitHub organization behind eliza, an open source agentic operating system for building AI agents, and the elizaOS project credited in this directory. Its linked site, elizaos.ai, is published by Eliza Research and presents Eliza as a personal agent built on elizaOS. According to Unchained, the project launched on Solana in October 2024 as ai16z, a DAO, and in January 2025 Shaw Walters, founder of Eliza Labs, announced it would rename to ElizaOS after a request from venture firm Andreessen Horowitz.
