Career
Penso’s biography traces his work from founding LinuxFr through mobile push infrastructure for the BBC, Facebook OpenGraph integrations and several startup CTO roles. More recently he designed Constellations, a Rust indexer for Cosmos chains, and helped build the data and execution layers of Dango. His current Microsoft work continues that focus on infrastructure and applied AI.[1]
Contributions
Keep the session separate from its window
Herdr UI is a native Rust/GPUI client for an independently installed Herdr daemon. It draws terminal cells and split panes supplied by that daemon rather than wrapping the terminal interface in another emulator. Existing sessions can be viewed through the native window while the daemon retains their state. The project explicitly describes itself as unaffiliated with Herdr.[3]
Review work in the same workspace
Its interface groups workspaces, worktrees, agent tabs and remote hosts. It can show code diffs and collect line comments, or show browser content with annotations that return to an agent. Installation and updates concern the GUI client; the documentation distinguishes those operations from installing or upgrading the underlying daemon.[3]

Start with the client–daemon boundary and supported platform requirements. Install a compatible Herdr daemon first; the native application attaches to that service rather than supplying an independent agent backend.
