GitLab is an American software company that develops the open-core DevOps platform of the same name, providing version control, CI/CD, security, and project management in a single application. It was founded in 2014 to continue an open-source project started in 2011 by Ukrainian developer Dmytro Zaporozhets and Dutch developer Sytse Sijbrandij, and is headquartered in San Francisco while operating as one of the world's largest all-remote companies. GitLab went public on Nasdaq under the ticker GTLB in October 2021 and reports over 30 million registered users.
