Inngest is a developer platform for durable workflows, background jobs and AI agents, which it describes as an observable execution layer for agents and workflows. It was co-founded in 2021 by CEO Tony Holdstock-Brown and CTO Dan Farrelly, a former Buffer CTO, and released its platform in 2022. Inngest is open core: its CLI, server and SDKs are public on GitHub, and it can run locally or on Inngest Cloud.
