@mattermost

1 Tool

Mattermost is an open-source collaboration platform for technical and operational teams, offering secure, self-hosted messaging, voice/video, and workflow integrations as an alternative to proprietary tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams. The company behind it began in 2011 as SpinPunch, a game studio, and repurposed its in-game messaging technology into Mattermost, releasing version 1.0 in October 2015. It follows an open-core business model, keeping the core platform freely available while generating revenue from enterprise support and additional features, with an emphasis on data sovereignty and avoiding vendor lock-in.
