Meilisearch is a Paris-based software company founded in 2018 by Quentin de Quelen, Clément Renault, and Thomas Payet, who previously worked together on search technology at Veepee and Louis Vuitton. It builds an open-source, Rust-based search engine designed to bring fast, typo-tolerant, developer-friendly search to websites and applications, offered both self-hosted and as a managed cloud service. The company raised a $15 million Series A in 2022 (total funding $22 million) led by Felicis, with participation from CRV, Seedcamp, and others.
