Ricardo Cabello is a self-taught Spanish developer from Barcelona who first encountered graphics programming through the demoscene — the subculture of coders competing to produce real-time visual spectacles in minimal code. He created three.js in 2010 after porting earlier Flash/ActionScript experiments to JavaScript, building what became the dominant open-source 3D library for the browser, and has collaborated with Google's Data Arts Team on several acclaimed interactive web projects.
