Sponge (@paysponge) is a San Francisco fintech startup, part of Y Combinator's Winter 2026 batch, building financial infrastructure that lets AI agents autonomously hold and spend money and lets businesses sell directly to them. It was founded in 2026 by Eric Zhang, Jae Choi, and Rishab Luthra, three engineers who previously worked on Stripe's crypto division, building Stripe's stablecoin financial accounts, stablecoin payments, and core money-movement systems.
