RunPod is a GPU cloud platform, founded in 2022 by Zhen Lu and Pardeep Singh, that lets developers rent NVIDIA and AMD GPUs by the second to train, fine-tune, and deploy AI models via on-demand instances and serverless inference endpoints. Originally built out of a cryptocurrency-mining operation, it has grown into a widely used AI developer cloud with a remote-first team spanning the U.S., Canada, Europe, and India. RunPod raised a $20M seed round co-led by Intel Capital and Dell Technologies Capital in 2024, followed by a $100M Series A led by Summit Partners in 2026 that valued the company at roughly $1 billion, by which point it reported over 1 million developers on the platform.
