Svelte is a compiler-based front-end framework created by Rich Harris, a former journalist at The Guardian and The New York Times who built it after developing interactive data-visualization tools in newsrooms. Unlike frameworks that ship a runtime library, Svelte compiles components into vanilla JavaScript at build time; Harris now works at Vercel, which sponsors his continued development of Svelte and its companion framework, SvelteKit.
