Twbs is the GitHub organization behind Bootstrap, the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript framework for building responsive, mobile-first websites. It originated as "Twitter Blueprint," created by Twitter developers Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton to bring consistency to the company's internal tools, and was renamed Bootstrap and released as open source on August 19, 2011. It has since become one of the most widely used and most-starred front-end frameworks on GitHub, maintained by Otto, Thornton, and a broad community of core developers and contributors.
