Fathom Analytics is a privacy-focused, cookieless web analytics tool positioned as an alternative to Google Analytics, built to comply with GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy laws without tracking individual users. It was co-founded in 2019 by designer/writer Paul Jarvis (author of Company of One) and engineer Jack Ellis. The company has always been bootstrapped and self-funded; Jarvis retired in late 2024, with Ellis acquiring his stake to become sole owner.
