About
KeepPlain saves coding agent sessions so developers can see why code changed. Its blame command links each line to the agent session that wrote it, and agents can search past sessions, pick up a task in another agent, and receive rules built from repeated corrections. It supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Pi and Antigravity, redacts secrets on the user's machine before upload, and is free for personal use with paid team plans.
At a glance
KeepPlain is a plugin and hosted service that saves your coding-agent sessions from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Pi and Antigravity, with secrets redacted on your machine before upload. Your agents can then search that history to resume a task in another agent, explain why a line changed, or follow rules learned from your repeated corrections. It is worth trying if you switch agents often and are comfortable keeping session text on KeepPlain's servers.
Good fit
Developers who split work across several coding agents or keep hitting Claude's usage limit and want to continue in Codex or Pi without re-explaining the task. Also suits people who want to publish a session as a readable "Build" behind a pull request or README, and teams of 3 to 50 that want shared agent rules and a session history that stays when people leave.
Consider something else when
Skip it if your session transcripts must never leave your machine: memory search finds only sessions sent to KeepPlain or imported at install, and the site sends redacted session text to Anthropic's API to propose each session's moments. Also skip it if you need meaning-based recall, since search matches words in English and Russian with no embeddings, so a synonym or typo can miss.
Start here
Run curl -fsSL https://keepplain.com/install.sh | sh (a Windows variant is offered), then keepplain login and keepplain enable inside a repository. Accept the offer to import the last 30 days of sessions so memory is not empty. Then ask your agent something like "continue the seat sync fix"; it should list the matching task and open the relevant turn. keepplain import-past status shows the import's progress.
Cost and requirements
Personal use is $0 with every personal feature, capped at 150 sessions a day in auto mode and 50 by hand. Team costs $20 per active seat a month billed yearly, minimum 3 seats, with a 7-day trial; the first 10 teams pay $10 a seat for 12 months. Prices are USD, via Paddle, as listed on 6 November 2026. Requires a KeepPlain account, one of the five supported agents, and macOS, Linux or Windows.
Limits to know
KeepPlain says its secret scan is not complete, so check what you publish. Recall hands back conversation excerpts, not files or uncommitted changes, and those excerpts use your agent's context window (12,000 characters by default). Task grouping can be wrong and needs fixing on the site. The only accuracy figure is the founder's own test: the right task came first for 31 of 34 questions, which KeepPlain calls not a benchmark. Data is hosted in Germany.

Still unclear
- How long server-side copies persist after you delete a session or account; the public pages defer to the privacy policy.
- Whether an individual can keep session storage on their own infrastructure; only the Team plan mentions a self-run PostgreSQL database.
